Tuleris (also affectionately referred to as 'Tully' or 'Brat' by his partners) is the bastard son of a town's Mage's Guildmaster and a local prostitute. The Guildmaster paid for the boy to live a life of quiet obscurity in a tavern on the edge of town - until Ryl and Red showed up and disrupted that careful arrangement by first drawing attention to the boy and then absconding with him.

He has a talent for magic which his sire did nothing to encourage. Ryl taught the boy the basics of magecraft, but while they're in Laranica for winters Tully takes more advanced tuition from Galen and Jendar.
