Jendar was born and grew up in Laranica, the unique city founded and ruled by elves. She was the younger sister of the city's ruling prince, Arindor.

Since she showed impressive talent with both sword and spells - and since her brother's heir was born less than 100 years after her - Jeni took up adventuring to amuse herself. She later 'shepherded' her young nephew Galen into the adventuring business to keep him from going insane of boredom waiting for his majority.

Jendar wed Barin Elsevier, a half-elven cleric-mage dedicated to Isis. Their first child, daughter Shiraija, is now three years old.
